Ledgent Accounting & Finance's client is seeking an Accounting Specialist (with a focus on accounts receivable), to support our client's firm's financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, client billing, payment processing, collections, and administrative tasks. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and collaborating with attorneys and internal teams, this role helps ensure accurate financial handling and an excellent client experience while upholding the firm's core values.
Day to day:
- Serve as a key contact for AR/AP functions, working closely with the accounting and administrative teams.
- Manage AR tasks such as invoice preparation, payment tracking, client communication, receipt verification, and resolving discrepancies.
- Process AP responsibilities including payment execution (wires, checks, ACH, credit cards), vendor verification, and invoice reconciliation.
- Utilize accounting systems to maintain accurate records and generate requested billing and payment reports.
- Organize physical and digital financial documents in accordance with GAAP and firm standards.
- Support client lifecycle financial needs, including fee arrangements, billing coordination, and follow-up.
- Maintain confidential records and properly file legal and financial documents.
- Produce financial reports and documentation such as payment histories and client account summaries.
- Communicate with clients regarding fees, costs, and other billing questions as needed.
- Assist with preparing timely, accurate financial statements when requested.
Qualifications:
- Must have 1+ year of accounts receivable experience within a law firm
